Comfortable Life with NetBSD

TERA utilities Project

As a successor to the olns software, TERA (Name for Author's Computer) utilities project for comfortable computer life with NetBSD has began.

Currently following utilities are available, which are written from scratch. All of them are tested under NetBSD/i386 environment. You can find all of the programs under the ftp://tack.fukui-med.ac.jp/pub/tera_utils directory.

cdplay:

a text base cdplayer

• Client
• Server(Daemon)

mail2news:

mail to news gateway program, which can convert a mail to plural ML to an article to crosspost one. This is the successor to the mailtonews in OLNS Software. The users of mailtonews are highly encouraged to replace it with mail2news.

ushutdown:

login shell for pseudo user shutdown.

upsd:

UPS daemon for DENSEI Personal 0C06 UPS. No manuals nor documents.

disktab:

When you buy a new hdd, creating disktab is a tough job, isn't it? Especially, if you have to do of trial and error case. Change one partition size, re-calculate all parameters, check them, etc... Here is a disktab, which is a wish(pkgsrc/lang/tk) script to you. After some trial and error, all you have to do is a click "OK" button to produce your disktab entry. After cut-and-paste its output to /etc/disktab, you can disklabel(8) your disk.

It was merged into -current on 12/14/1999, but newer version can be grabbed here.

Cirrus Logic CS4281 driver for NetBSD.

It was merged into -current on 01/22/2001, but newer version can be grabbed here. I still need some testers to implement midi support. I set up a tester mailing list. To subscribe it, mail to majordomo@trap.fukui-med.ac.jp with body subscribe cs4281-info.
